Here is da man of style and I hope substance (I say hope because I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting him) Jenke Ahmed Tailly at the Garage magazine launch. If you haven’t noticed there is a serious ascendance of black creatives across the arts and fashion, and both Tailley and Shala Monroque, the creative director of Garage magazine and fashion commander are among those leading the movement, whether they intended to or not is besides the point. Their omnipresent style and influence is challenging the  high fashion hegemony and re-configuring cultural definitions of fashion and art as a legitimate space for black people with serious creative vision.
