Corruption always catches up with you in the end.. just ask James Ibori

Ibori’s case should be recorded as one of the most complicated, complex, and longest case in history. No one could have anticipated that the former Delta State governor would receive a 13 years sentence this officially marks the end to the highly controversial case. Amongst the sentence the following were confiscated as a result: A house in Hampstead for 2.2m, a property in Shaftesbury Dorset, £311,000, A 3.2m mansion in South Africa, a fleet of armored Range Rovers at a value of £600,000, a 120,000 Bentley, A Mercedes-Benz Maybach 62 bought at 407,000 with Euros and only God knows what else he managed to squander from the poorest people in Nigeria.

Dangote to donate $7 Billion To Nigeria’s electricity

Apr 16, 2012 No Comments by

Nigerian self-made businessman Aliko Dangote announced a few days ago that he would be investing in the construction of 2000-megawatt power-generation facility. With an estimated net worth value of $11.2 billion this is a huge investment. Disclosing his intension Dangote said “We want to do power that will be about 2,000 MW, that is infrastructure.”

Considering the awful news Nigeria endured in the New Year, during the fuel subsidy divergence, this news somehow brings a shimmer of optimism for Nigeria. However, it does beg the question how much money did Goodluck say will be used to address the infrastructure in Nigeria and how much has he used to date?

I was thrilled to stumble upon this video on YouTube of the phenomenal Lauryn Hill speaking to senior year students at a High School in the USA.

I have abundant respect for Lauryn Hill and I’ve always taken a keen interest in her music and life, so I was surprised that I had not seen the video before. Better late than never.

        Watch the video below:
